Did you know that each day, humans make up to 35,000 conscious and subconscious decisions? With various factors and biases unknowingly influencing these, we're not always in control of what we decide.
What if you could affect how this happens and assist people in making wiser choices, all with a little 'nudge'? Would you positively impact policy, your community, or the world?
With Behavioural Economics, you can become a change-maker and take action to positively influence industry and policy. As Nobel Prize Winner Richard Thaler puts it, 'if irrationality can be predicted, human decisions can be nudged to maximise better outcomes'.
Taught by world-class academics and industry experts, you will develop a deeper understanding of the decision-making processes of individuals and institutions.
This major will see you learn and apply the theoretical foundations of the discipline, further understand how Behavioural Economics can be used in various industry contexts and expose you to current practices in the Behavioural Economics industry.
Combining elements of economics and psychology, you will also learn the relevant analytical and practical skills necessary to provide key insights on individual and organisational decision-making behaviour.
Additionally, you will be given several real-world learning opportunities to trial the theory and practical skills you have learnt in class. Working with industry partners and businesses of all sizes, you will assist them in driving real-world analytical and practical change.
