Civil and environmental engineering focuses on the theory and techniques necessary for the planning, design, construction and maintenance of infrastructure such as bridges, roads, airports, railways, tunnels, dams, harbors, cities and traffic, river and marine environments, as well as water and wastewater treatment facilities. Our department aims to foster creative and active professionals that will contribute to the development of the future society by providing students with theoretical and practical training in the areas of structural engineering, water engineering, and geotechnical engineering, in addition to basic sciences such as mathematics, physics, and chemistry. Structural engineering deals with the analysis and design of various structures including bridges, the improvement of steel & concrete performance, the development of new structural materials, and the evaluation and design of structural stability against earthquakes. Hydraulic engineering deals with the design and analysis of various hydraulic structures using hydraulics model experiments and numerical model tests based on engineering theory, and the supply and management of quantitative and qualitative aspects of water resources. Geotechnical engineering researches and investigates the characteristics of various strata and rocks and studies the development of technology for the basic stability of civil structure and proper land improvement by engineering prediction and analysis of soil and rock behavior. And environmental engineering studies topics like air and water pollution prevention and their efficient management, treatment, domestic and industrial waste management, soil pollution prevention, and noise and vibration reduction.
