The Department of History aims to offer a vibrant and diverse program that includes courses for the undergraduate and graduate students to explore the past in order to better understand the present. This program has faculty members who teach and research about many aspects of the historical world. The Department of History largely consists of two fields, which include Korean and Asian history and European and American history. Each respective field further divides into ancient, medieval, early modern, and modern history. The department's curriculum also includes original text reading, special topic studies, guest lectures, and student activities. These additional opportunities provide the students with the critical skills and perspectives in order to analyze and reconstruct the past.
