The BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance prepares students for a career in Accounting and Finance. The programme provides a comprehensive understanding of accounting and finance techniques and concepts, including current reporting standards.
The programme is accredited by QQI and graduates can apply for 9 ACCA exemptions from 13 Foundation Level or ACCA Qualification exams from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Graduates may also apply for:
8 CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) exemptions.
8 CPA Ireland Foundation and Professional Level exemptions.
Maximum exemptions up to Professional Level 2 of the Association of International Accountants.
The programme provides a comprehensive education in the quantitative and analytical skills required in the business world and a range of accounting practices. Students will be able to analyse contemporary theories and practices concerning financial management, risk, and the operation of the accounting and finance function. Our degree will equip students with the capability to prepare a range of standard accounting statements for use by management in a business environment and interpret the business implications of such information.
