Civil engineers design buildings, bridges, factories, power stations, communication towers, dams, stadiums, oil and gas rigs, and wind turbines.
If you like problem-solving and want an exciting and dynamic career in civil engineering, this course will equip you with the skills to carry out the design and construction of various engineering structures.
You’ll develop your mathematical and analytical skills to solve many of the problems encountered in structural design.
Each year of the course is delivered over two semesters, with examinations at the end of each semester.
Subjects from Year 2 onwards (after completion of the General Entry year) include engineering mathematics, engineering structure analysis, mechanics of materials, engineering surveying, concrete technology, fluid mechanics, building technology, geotechnical engineering, civil engineering hydraulics, environmental engineering, design of structural elements, highway engineering, civil engineering practice and law, construction management and economics, and civil scheme design.
