The course offers students the opportunity to develop their understanding of the theories underpinning core phenomena in business analysis while allowing students to work with ‘live’ data, facilitated through the availability of the newly developed Finance Lab.
The programme was developed to respond to demand from companies for specialist graduates with advanced skills and knowledge in areas such as statistics, data modelling, business intelligence and financial analysis.
This course will also enable existing employees to acquire key skills and competencies to help them advance their career and make a greater contribution in their workplace. It will serve as a platform for knowledge expansion and the acquisition of new skills and competencies thereby developing a new mind set amongst employees in preparation for the demands of the ever-changing business environment.
The course will be delivered in-person and on-campus in concentrated blocks. Students are required to attend lectures on campus over 3 days, complemented with independent self-learning. The programme will be delivered using a mix of lectures and practicals (IT lab-based). Practice-based training will be central to this with candidates receiving specialised training in PL-SQL, Real Stats, Eikon, Stocktrak and Qlikviews. There is also an opportunity to be part of a broader community of graduate business students. Some of the modules may be shared with other graduate courses.
