MA Computer Science

This Bachelor's degree programme provides students with a thorough theoretical and experimental knowledge in the field of planning, development and management of systems for information generation, transmission and processing and for data statistical analysis.

In particular, the course features three different specialisations. By choosing the ‘Data Science’ curriculum, students will acquire skills that are at the heart of a data scientist’s profession, which has become topical due to the large amount of digital data generated on a daily basis by various human activities. By choosing the ‘Technologies and Information Science’ curriculum, students will be able to deepen their knowledge of some of the professionalising IT content in the field of Computer Science, such as web technologies and design, or the administration of IT systems. Finally, by choosing the ‘European Computer Science’ curriculum, students will have the opportunity to spend a year studying abroad in one of the European partner universities and obtain a double degree -- both an Italian one and that of the chosen European country.

Laboratory and practical activities and an active use of English, in particular technical English specific to ICT, are integral to the courses. The ‘Technologies and Information Science’ and ‘European Computer Science’ curricula are delivered in Italian. The ‘Data Science’ curriculum is delivered in English. Graduates will be able to work as specialised technicians in the areas of software production, data analysis and administration of IT systems, both within manufacturing companies in the areas of IT systems and computer networks, and in companies, administrations and laboratories that use complex information processing systems and methods.
